ddd4UPM has been recognized by EcoVadis and CDP for its responsible procurement practices

UPM has received a Platinum rating from EcoVadis for its sustainability performance, placing the company in the top 1% globally. The EcoVadis assessment evaluates performance across four categories: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. UPM’s overall score rose by 5 points to an impressive 90 out of 100.

In addition, UPM received an A score in CDP’s 2024 Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA), which evaluates how companies engage their supply chains on climate-related issues. According to CDP, companies that actively involve their suppliers in climate change mitigation play a crucial role in the transition to a net-zero, sustainable economy.

“We believe our customers value these recognitions. With a global supplier base of approximately 23,000 partners, we are committed to building long-term business relationships based on shared principles and a strong commitment to responsible practices,” says Sami Lundgren, Vice President, Responsibility at UPM.

“This feedback is a clear indicator of our transparency and the value we deliver to our customers through the performance and quality of our products, the reliability of our services, and the sustainability of our operations and those of our suppliers,” Lundgren adds.

The EcoVadis methodology is grounded in international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and ISO 26000. It covers over 250 spend categories and assesses more than 130,000 companies in over 185 countries.
